How Euporia works

How the AI works

What Euporia's AI features see, what they do, and what they don't do.

Euporia uses AI in two places: the Advisor's review and Ask Euporia questions, plus the optional summary in the weekly digest. The model is Claude, made by Anthropic.

AI informs; you decide

  • Every AI output is labelled AI-generated.
  • Review suggestions are links to the page where you can act. You make any change yourself.
  • It doesn't recommend investments, predict markets, or judge whether you can afford credit, and Euporia doesn't use AI to score anyone.
  • Categorising transactions doesn't use AI at all.

What the AI sees

Only what each feature needs:

FeatureWhat's sent
ReviewIncome and spending totals and currency; each budget envelope's name, amount assigned and spent; your top five merchants and their totals
Ask EuporiaYour question, today's date and the list of categories. No transactions or totals

The AI features are built to leave out your name and email address, account numbers, transaction notes, and account, user or space identifiers. Each request is assembled from the fields in the table above, and an automated test checks that nothing else is included.

Good to know

Euporia can't detect personal names inside a merchant or envelope name, so a merchant called after a person is sent as it is.

How answers are calculated

For Ask Euporia, the AI only turns your question into a search. Euporia runs that search on your data and adds up the totals itself, so the numbers you see are calculated, not written by the AI.

Limits

Each AI request uses one call from your monthly allowance, shown on the Advisor page. See Limits.
